The development concerns the creation of production of containers for transportation and storage. Also for modular storage facilities for long - term storage of radioactive waste of low and medium activity, including in order to rehabilitate contaminated areas.
Gist of development
Unlike the existing technologies for storage of radioactive waste, the basis of the proposed project is fundamentally new materials and technologies for the manufacture of capacities for the storage and transportation of low and medium waste.
The weakened radiation coefficient of the developed materials is 1. 4 - 1. 7 times higher than that of steel. According to the results of IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) test procedures, the estimated term of use without overloading is up to 300 years. According to the results of the operation of products in the conditions of solar radiation, high humidity, industrial gas pollution, in air and in seawater for 30 years no traces of corrosion and destruction were detected.

Advantages of development are: rise of radiation stability of containers; increased to 10 times the term of use; increased strength indicators; low weight of products at an equivalent volume, which reduces the risk of damage with dynamic loads during transportation and storage. On the world market of analogues of developed containers, elements of modular repositories are not present.
